Interacting with our patients and learning about their lives are the best parts of my work. Everyone has a different background, so they have different stories to tell and a wide range of interests, too. I learn a lot from my patients, and that’s very rewarding. Some of my duties include putting on braces, making adjustments, and taking the X-rays and pictures for our records. I also make appliances and perform inventory control. My favorite day is when the braces come off and patients see their new smile for the first time. I smile and grin right along with them!
Believe it or not, I was a patient of Dr. McKinney’s when I was 12 years old! Now my life is shared with my husband Jake and our dog Beau. I enjoy hunting and being outside, but I’m happiest spending time with my family.
Orthodontic Assistant, Lab Technician, and Clinical Coordinator
I love the conversations I have with our patients. They can have me in stitches with their jokes or stories about their latest adventures. Whether I’m working with a patient who’s new to the practice or someone who’s established, I enjoy the give and take. I work with our patients as well as trim models, make retainers, order clinical supplies, and oversee training. The best days around here are the ones when a patient’s braces are removed, they see their new smile, and their confidence just skyrockets!
When I was younger, I had orthodontic treatment with Dr. McKinney and I was made to sit on my hands during visits because I constantly grabbed for the instruments! My home life is very family-focused, and revolves around my husband James and Myles, who’s my son. I love playing outside with my son!
Insurance Coordinator, Orthodontic Assistant
I love watching how smiles change from beginning to end of treatment, and the good changes that happen in the patient at the same time. A people person, I enjoy meeting new people and getting to know each of them. I have dynamic, fascinating conversations with our patients. I wear several hats at our office, from scheduling appointments to handling the insurance billing and coordination, as well as patient communication. As our shuttle driver, I go to area schools to transport patients to and from their appointments.
I’m married with two children. Being involved with my children’s activities is the highest priority to me, though I also enjoy hunting, shopping, and helping on our cattle farm.
Office Manager and Financial Coordinator
I do our financial presentations, collect and post payments, handle accounts receivable and payable, as well as do the payroll. I am a problem solver and love to make things work right, for our team and for our patients!
I’m married and love being outdoors, especially if I’m at the beach!
New Patient Coordinator and Marketing Outreach Coordinator
My role at the office is to stay in contact with local dentist offices and ensure positive community relationships. I set up arrangements with Sipsey Valley Middle School and Northside Middle School, our adopt-a-school partners, and lend a hand whenever possible.
I love being a part of building relationships between our office and others; it fosters a great atmosphere and it’s rewarding to see what teamwork and working with our community can do. I am creative, so brainstorming ways to conduct outreach is the best part of my job.
I have been married to my husband Corey for several years and we have a small son. In my spare time, I enjoy painting, listening to music, and being outdoors.
New Patient Coordinator, Orthodontic Assistant
I have been with McKinney Orthodontics since 2013. However, my affiliation began when my daughter became a patient. After years living as a military family, I’ve settled in Hampton Cove with my husband Marty and two children, Nathan and Lauren. Once an army wife, always an army wife: I volunteer on Redstone with Army Community Service as a financial counselor. I enjoy interacting with our patients and my coworkers. They keep me grinning, and after all, it’s all about the smiles!
I received my certificate in dental assisting from Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, California, in 1994. I worked as a registered dental assistant for five years before taking some time off from the dental field to raise my two children, Emma and Nathan. I have lived in the Huntsville area since 2007 when our family moved from Washington, DC to take advantage of a career opportunity for my husband Brian at Redstone Arsenal. I joined the team in Hampton Cove in June 2011.
My hobbies include gardening, pets, and volunteering with the local parent-teacher association at the elementary and middle schools that my children attend.
